Guest speaker Jen Gilbreath updated the group on Representative Peter DeFazio’s work in Washington and his tireless efforts to put funding back into the county

Gloria Addressed the following issues which were of concern to CCDCC:

1. Mixed Use Master Plan; 2. 911 Services and 3.  Local Economy.  The Commissioner stated she favored the Alternative 2 of the BLM alternatives for O&C lands. 

Georgia discussed the joint management issues pertaining to the Harbor Hills development.  The 911 issue was raised because there had been two centers, Brookings and Gold Beach and Brookings did the dispatches for South County.  Now the county has the capability to dispatch for the south portion but some communication problems exist with fire department and ambulance communications and discussions are being held to resolve these problems. Commissioner Nowlin talked about looking at each county department’s current needs in the wake of the budget cuts, and the safety issues at the Sheriff’s office which needs additional personnel.
